The Fast & Easy Way To Start An Internet Home Business

Many people think that starting an Internet home business is hard. In fact, there is no business in the world that is faster or easier to launch. If you have 15 minutes and a connection to the Internet, I’ll show you how to launch your own Internet business right away.

Before you launch your first Internet home business, you need to understand the basics. The first step of having a business on the Internet is having your own website. This is the major stumbling block for most people. They think getting a website is expensive or difficult. It’s neither of those things. Actually, it’s free and it’s easy. In fact, let’s go ahead and get your first website setup right now.

To do this I recommend using a free tool called Blogger. Blogger is used for creating blogs on the fly, but a blog is nothing more than a fancy name for a website. To set up your blog website now visit: http://www.Blogger.com

Once you arrive, click the “Create Your Blog Now” button on the page. On the next page enter a user name, password, display name and email address. Then click “Continue”. On the next page enter a blog title and blog address. These can be anything you want. Then enter the word verification code and click “Continue”. On the next page choose a template for your blog (this is what your website will look like) and click “Continue”. Voila… Your blog/website has been created!

Next, click the “Start Posting” button. A new page will appear giving you the option to add content to your new website. Write a title for your page in the “Title” field and then write whatever you want that page of your website to be about in the larger data entry field below the “Title” field on that page. You can use the tools on that page to change your fonts, make links, format your text, add pictures, etc. When you’re happy with what you’ve entered into the page, click the “Publish Post” button. You just created a new page on your website! On the next page displayed, you’ll see a link that says: “View Blog”. Click that link and you’ll see your website live on the Internet. Pretty easy, right?! ;-) Now you can wash, rinse, repeat and create as many new pages on your website as you want.

But let’s turn your website into a business first. After all, websites are a lot more fun once they are making money for you.

Here’s how:

Get back into your Blogger account and click the “Template” tab. Then click the “AdSense” link near the top of the page. AdSense is a simple but powerful program that allows you to earn advertising revenue from your website. Follow the easy instructions on that page to launch your AdSense account instantly. On the next page click the “Save” button to save AdSense into your website. Then on the next page click the “Republish” button. Your website will instantly be rebuilt now showing a Google AdSense ad at the top of each page on your website. Every time someone visits your website and clicks one of those ads, you earn money from AdSense. You now have a moneymaking business setup on the Internet. How long did that take? 15 minutes! ;-)

The only thing you need to do now to start the cash flowing in is get people to visit your new website. One way to do this would be to tell your friends and family about your site. Here are two more easy things you can do to drive an unstoppable flow of traffic to your new website:

Traffic Strategy 1: Tell all the major blog directories about your new blog/website. To do this, visit http://www.PingoMatic.com and enter your blog name, blog URL (that’s the link to your website generated by Blogger), check all the boxes on that page and click the “Send Pings” button. This will tell all the blog directories about your new blog/website and you’ll start getting some traffic from interested visitors to those directories. Do this each time you add a new page to your blog.

Traffic Strategy 2: Go back to your blog URL/home page and click the “Next Blog” button at the top of the page. This will take you to another blog of another Blogger user. Read through a post or two on that person’s blog and look for a link that says “Comments” and click it. On the next page you’ll be able to type your comments and a link back to your blog inside a form. Once you’ve added your comments, click the “Login and Publish” button; and a link to your site along with your comments will be added to that blog. Repeat this process as many times as you want with other blog websites. This will “link you in” to a network of sites all over the Internet helping you drive a steady stream of traffic to your blog.

Blogger is a great tool to launch your Internet home business, but it’s not the only tool you should be using. To build a solid Internet home business that you can rely on, you need to register your own domain name and website hosting account. A domain name is your unique home on the web that you own and control. Example: domain names are yahoo.com, ebay.com, google.com, etc.

Winning Strategies For Pay-Per-Click Advertising

When you think of your pay-per-click ads appearing in the search engines, it is natural to assume being listed in the top position is the best placement for success. Think again!

This is one of those areas of life where what would seem to best in reality is not. It seems people often click on the ads in the middle or towards the bottom.

This is great news for you because it means you can save a ton of money on your bids.

You don?t need to be listed first in Google! There is often a significant gap between the first and second or third position bids for Google pay-per-click ads. This is where you save. Let others pay the top dollar to be listed first?or even second or third. By stretching you advertising dollar this way you will not only save money on your pay-per-click bill but you may very well get better traffic to your website by being further down the list of Google ads in the search engine. Use the Google tools in your Adwords account to figure out the top bids for the keywords you are using. If they are running their ad on a regular basis, it means what they are doing is working?so you should study what they are doing.

Shopping online has many benefits such as online rewards programs. You save a lot of time and gas by skipping the drive to the mall and the search for a adequate parking space. There are far more products available online than you would find in your local mall and this means you have a better selection. You can also save a huge amount of money from special offers, as well as earn lots of reward points.

Why an Online Rewards Program?

You`ll notice, when doing your shopping online, that there are two main types of websites where you can buy. The first is the retail site, which is owned by the company that sells the products. 5 Steps How Wealthy Affiliate Create Successful Adwords Campaign

Let’s explore these steps in detail below:

1.) Find a Product:

If you don’t have your own product a fast way to get started is to join an affiliate network such as cj.com, clickbank.com or linkshare.com. There are thousands of great products at these networks. They are easy and free to join. You don’t need a website to start however it is a good idea to invest in a website once you find a lucrative market. You can also join thousands of companies who run their affiliate programs in-house. To find these companies type in a product you would like to advertise and follow it with affiliate program. E.g. “guitar lessons affiliate program”.

2.) Keyword Research:

Brain storm search terms that people would use to find your market. Use general and specific keywords. General keyword e.g. “guitar lessons” “learn the guitar”. Specific keyword e.g. “guitar made easy” “ebook guitar lessons”. Check your competitors’ website source code and look at their meta tags to see what keywords they are using. Use keyword tools like Word tracker, Overture’s free tool and Google’s free tool. These will help you uncover hundreds or even thousands of keyword phrases and combinations.

3.) Ad Copy:

Writing good ad copy is crucial for getting visitors from Adwords. Focus on the benefits of the product you are selling and use the keyword in the title of your ad. If a web surfer typed the keyword “guitar made easy” you could write an ad like this:

Master the Guitar Fast.
http://www.your-guitar-store.com

The keyword is in the title and the benefits are in the ad body.

4.) Bidding Strategies:

If you have a small budget keep your bids low between 10 and 25 cents per click. Bid on as many keywords as you can. Don’t get into bidding wars with your competitor for 1st place or any ranking. Figure out what a visitor is worth to you. If you have 4 sales for every 100 visitors and you make $20 per sale, a visitor would be worth $0.80.

This is how I calculate the visitors worth: 4 sales x $20 / 100 visitors. Once you know what a visitor is worth you will know how much your maximum bid should be. To obtain a healthy ROI never bid more than half of what a visitor is worth on a search term. Using our example above a visitor is worth $0.80 so you would keep bids below $0.40 because you want to try to make a 200% ROI.

5.) Testing And Tracking

Experiment with your ads. Split test 2 ads in your Adwords account. Keep the ad that performs the best and edit or rewrite the loser and split test again. Look at your Adwords stats to make note of the best performing ads. This will teach you what types of ads work best for your market. Test variations of your landing page. Modify your page and track your results. You should constantly be testing and tracking your website content and your ads.

Google has a conversion tool to help track specific goals like your ROI and your click thru rate to your website links. Google has an excellent tool called Google Analytics that tracks traffic,goals, ROI, keywords and much more. It is the best free tracking tool I have ever worked with.

Maximize Your Limited Budget for Google AdWords

When dealing with Google AdWords campaigns, advertisers have several options for selecting keywords. PPC expert and Founder of ClickEquations Craig Danuloff talked with me about when to use each one, and provided some advice about getting the most out of your campaign on a limited budget.

Chris Crum: When should advertisers use Exact Match?

Google AdWordsCD: First, let me ask a question: If you only sell women’s blue sweaters, do you really want your ads showing up for men’s blue sweaters?  Probably not.  Before we talk about Match Types, it’s important to define some vocabulary I’ll use: keywords and search queries.

Keywords are the words you buy, ex: blue sweater. Search Queries are the words the actual words someone typed that may, depending on your match type, trigger your ad to show up in the search engine, ex: men’s blue sweater.  Match Types are a tool to help you target search queries.

As we talk about in the Match Type Keyword Trap (see our paid search white paper), it’s okay to use the same match types for the same words.  Each step from Exact to Phrase to Broad exposes your ads to a wider audience of less specific search queries.  Some of these queries are relevant and will prove profitable, but many will be irrelevant, or at least low converting.

Craig Danuloff of ClickEquationsFor example, if you buy “blue sweaters” on phrase match, you could easily pay for the click of someone who searched “men’s blue sweaters” when you only sell women’s. And on Broad Match you almost certainly will pay for clicks from searches that you wouldn’t choose to target – for example ‘blue sweaters’ may be matched to ‘dog sweater’.

So the trick to choosing and using Match Type is to understand that the trade off is between precision and volume. Exact Match will generally deliver less volume but you can be very sure of what those searchers are looking for. This generally means you can pay a lot for those clicks because their interest and your conversion rates should be high.

Conversely, Broad Match will deliver a lot of volume, but the searches will be a mixed bag of on-target, near-target, and off-target topics. You’ll want to pay less for these clicks since so many won’t convert.

There are two possible initial strategies: you could start with only Exact Match keywords, expanding outward with more tests and then moving groups of words that prove very successful as Exact Match down to Phrase and even broad over time. This will control your budget and minimize waste. Or you could start with Broad Match and find patterns to promote to Phrase and even Exact as you see what works. You’ll want to be vigilant about adding negative keywords too when using this method. This strategy will drive more traffic faster, but at a lower return.

CC: When should advertisers use Broad Match?

CD: Broad Match buys you a basket of search queries. Like any grab bag, it will contain some great stuff and some duds. Using Broad Match is a good way to experiment in a category (but keep your bids and budgets low) but as you get serious it’s best if you ‘promote’ winning search queries into their own Phrase Match and Exact Match keywords.

Over the long run, if you actively manage your account think of Broad Match as a research tool whose job is to find you good Phrase and Exact match keyword candidates.

If you have a limited budget, have a low conversion rate or are very new to paid search, then don’t use Broad Match until you’ve got a steady ROI on your Exact and Phrase Match campaigns.

CC: When should advertisers use Phrase Match?

CD: Phrase Match is a way to sweep up a lot of queries and cover the fact that people search in nearly infinite ways. You can’t possibly think of every search query to use in Exact Match, nor is it necessary or reasonable in every case.  Phrase Match opens up a wider audience without as many crazy matches as Broad Match.  Phrase Match is a great type for new campaigns or accounts or when you’re struggling for volume.

There are few key points to using Phrase Match effectively:

- Start with your most profitable products and search queries from successful Exact Match campaigns

- Use phrases that are at least 2 words and preferably 3 or more.

- Build out your negative list as much as you can.  You’ll never think of all possible negatives, but the time spent hear is well worth it.

It’s critical to monitor your search queries closely to find phrases to move into Exact Match ad groups and negatives to add to your list.  Phrase Match is just a net to help with your keyword research.  Profitable or unprofitable search queries shouldn’t linger here long.

CC: When should advertisers use Automatic Matching?

Keywords CD: Automatic Match is an even more expanded version of Broad Match and should be used with extreme caution, if at all. The premise of Automatic Match is that Google is offering to figure out how to spend any unused portion of your budget by selecting keywords that you have not chosen and displaying your ads for queries that match those keywords.

Think about this for a second. Optimistically, it’s an automatic traffic and lead generation machine. You don’t do anything, Google just figures your paid search advertising for you. More skeptically, it’s a vendor telling you that they’ll spend your entire budget with absolutely no visibility into how or why, or assurance that results will be anything more than disastrous. Sound appealing?

I would only recommend it with very tight budgets and a very watchful eye on results. Note that you can be opted into Automatic Matching without giving your permission – so check your campaigns carefully to make sure this is turned off unless you really want it on.

CC: What advice would you give to an advertiser on a very limited budget to get the most out of their ppc campaign?

CD: If you haven’t started yet, first see if you can find some coupons for a free $50 - $100 in AdWords credits (Here’s one source).  That way, you can stretch your budget and experiment a bit to learn what works.  Read paid search blogs to learn from other people who’ve managed paid search before.

Focus on your highest margin products that you have in stock first.   Start with a very limited number of campaigns and ad groups.  Focus your text ads and ad groups very tightly around answering the question your targeted searchers are asking.  Build out your negative list extensively to avoid clicks that don’t relate to your product.  I’d suggest that you start with Exact and Phrase match first.  We’ve also had good luck find low cost segments of the market with content network campaigns (just remember to run them in separate campaigns!)

Avinash Kaushik It’s also important to make sure you’re landing pages (where you send paid search visitors after they click your ads) are effective.  A 2% conversion rate instead of a 1% conversion rate can make a huge difference in the profitability of your campaigns.  To learn about web analytics, I recommend you read Occam’s Razor by Avinash Kaushik. Curious ELPA remote sports built-in speaker

Well, here’s a novel concept. Rather than bothering with turning up the volume on your ancient television, just crank up the volume on this here remote. Asahi Electric’s block-shaped remote is about as unergonomic as it gets, and it sure won’t bring along any advanced functionality, but we suppose that’s sort of the point. The 30mm speaker connects to a wireless transceiver in order to blast out the audio, and while most everything else is lost in translation, do you really need to understand any more?

How To Use An Online Stopwatch To Increase Productivity

Time is a valuable commodity and it gets wasted easily online.  Whether you’re a student, a web developer or even an Web 2.0 CEO, the internet is always ready to devour your time.

Fortunately, online stopwatches are easy to find & to use.

Gently enhance the value of your time by making intelligent use of one of these free stopwatches.

Punch In & Out

It’s easy to lose track of time when you’ve got 1) the internet as a playground, & 2) a nice, cozy couch to rest on while you work.

Instead of losing huge chunks of time during a stay-at-home workday, practice a procedure of punching in & out using a clock.  Whenever you begin working, simply start the clock.  (My favorite version is this one, a simple full-screen stopwatch which I can keep minimized at the bottom of my screen as I work).  When you take a break, even if it’s only a quick restroom break, stop the clock.  When you resume your work, start the clock again.

Simple.  Punch in & punch out.  However, don’t waste time after you’ve punched in.  Stay on task.  If you find yourself drifting, punch out and give yourself a little pep talk before punching in again.

Log Your Results

Recently, I wrote about the benefits of using the Firefox extension Zotero.  This free application allows you to easily drag & drop online material into a notebook extension.  Zotero is great to use when paired with an online stopwatch widget called Chronme.

Chronme not only counts time, but it also logs the date & time of day when you put it to use.  This is a powerful asset when you’re keeping track of your productivity, because a log is automatically retained for every break you take while working.

Periodically, you can drag & drop this data into a Zotero standalone note.

Furthermore, since Chronme is a widget, you can place it into a private blog where you can daily record your own performance.

Analyze the Data

At the end of the day, take a look at the total amount of time you worked, and try to find out when you may have wasted time. Consider practicing this experiment with a friend or two, and try to compare productivity with one another.

Perhaps your friend will be more effective in his work than you are, even if he worked less time. Perhaps not. If so however, try to discover the secret to his success.  Be willing to learn how to improve.

Make the Most of Your Time

Time can be money if you make a habit of putting your time to good use. Free up time in your day by getting the most out of the least amount of time.

Why slave for hours over a project that does not deserve more than 30 minutes of your time? By evaluating your own psychology about time, you will see that procrastination tends to waste away precious minutes, hours or even entire workdays.

Cooler Master’s 5-CPU monstrosity has your craptop cowering in a corner

That video card you "borrowed" from your brother two years ago makes an exasperated sigh every time you fire up The Sims 2, and you're pretty sure your power supply is one Cheeto crumb away from giving up the ghost. Not this thing, however. Cooler Master has built an utterly ridiculous setup, with five separate quad-core computers running simultaneously under one roof, off of one power supply. The whole thing, which Cooler Master dubbs the 53GHz, is basically a showcase for various Cooler Master components, and will be displayed at CeBIT in Germany next week.
